Imperial Esports League

IEL Season 5 Week 1 Power Rankings

Apologies for the delayed power rankings, but they are now out! These are all ranked purely on week one results and our predictions based on them, rather than week two. These rankings were in fact created before week two began and as such have not influenced the rankings, so if you should be higher in the rankings due to week two results, then expect to see it this weekend!

PROSPECT WRITE-UP – Crispy

Side-note from Chop: this is the only write-up this week sadly, but I hope that you enjoy what Crispy put together!

As painful as it is for me to write about my own team, Built By Us heavily disappointed in week 1, losing 3-2 to crown, and being swept by Team Chaos (now Lions Gaming). Although they did use their sub for both these games, it is still a poor showing for the side who were supposedly one of the teams to beat in the Mu Conference. They may be able to pick it up next week, but it will be harder starting from a 0-2 record in this shorter 8-week season.

At the other end of the Mu Conference sit Auto Celerity. This is a very expected result; they were tipped to be one of the top teams in the whole prospect league before the season, and sweeps over Puncture and Royals only affirm this. They were the only prospect team not to lose a game in week 1, and this dominance should only continue in the coming weeks.

Over in the Omega Conference, the top dogs are Galamo Esports. They affirmed themselves as strong participants this season by  sweeping a relatively strong Austrian Force side, and picking up a 3-1 win over Team Beserkers. The top seeds in this division will be looking to continue this form into the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, at the bottom end is nTice Esports. They did have two fairly difficult matches in week 1 against R5 Esports and Deja Vu eSports, but not picking up a single game in either of these series has confined them to joint bottom spot, and it already seems like a mountain to climb for them in the league.
